In 2005, the Trustees of the National Portrait Gallery in London commissioned a portrait of Bill Morris by artist John Keane.   The portrait first appeared in the Gallery in July of that year.

When Jazz Jamaica made a CD of music by Marvin Gaye, they invited Bill Morris to join them on one of their tracks - and he added "rapper" to his list of accomplishments.   Appropriately the track was "What's Going On" and the CD "Motorcity Roots" was released for Christmas 2005.

In April 2006 Bill Morris was awarded a life peerage, and on June 13 he took his seat in the House of Lords and will be known as Lord Morris of Handsworth.
